Singapore is one of the most popular short-haul destinations for Indian travellers — a clean, safe, English-speaking city-state that mixes Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa, Marina Bay Sands, Universal Studios and some of Asia's best food into a trip you can do in three to five days. For families, first-time international travellers and business visitors alike, it is an easy, rewarding gateway to South-East Asia.
Indian passport holders do need a visa to enter Singapore. There is no visa-on-arrival and no walk-in tourist visa for Indian citizens. Instead, Singapore issues an electronic visa (e-Visa) that must be lodged through an authorised visa agent or a Singapore overseas mission — you cannot apply directly as an individual at a counter. The e-Visa is then linked to your passport electronically.
This page explains who needs what, the documents involved, how the process works, what it costs, and the practical tips that keep an Indian application clean.
Who needs a Singapore visa
Almost all Indian passport holders travelling to Singapore for tourism, visiting family or short business need an entry visa. The standard route is the short-stay tourist / social visit e-Visa, which is the visa we prepare and file.
A small number of Indian travellers may qualify for facilitated transit (for example, certain travellers transiting to or from specific third countries) — but for a genuine holiday, family visit or business trip, you should plan on a full visitor visa. Do not rely on transit shortcuts for an actual visit.
What a Singapore visitor visa involves
The Singapore tourist e-Visa is a document-led application. Because Indians must apply through an authorised agent or a Singapore mission, getting the file right the first time matters — there is no over-the-counter chance to fix things.
A typical Indian application is built around:
- A passport valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.
- A recent colour photograph to Singapore's specification (35mm × 45mm, white background).
- The completed Form 14A and a V39A letter of introduction from a local contact or the authorised agent, as applicable.
- Proof of funds and ties to India — bank statements, salary slips/ITR, employment or business proof — to satisfy the genuine-visitor test.
- Travel itinerary — return flight reservation and hotel/accommodation booking for the trip.
- A Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC), submitted online within three days before arrival. This is a separate, free immigration declaration — not the visa itself — and must be done before you fly.

Singapore visa costs — what to budget
The Singapore government visa fee is modest. The larger budget lines for a trip are the agent/handling fee, your flights and hotel — not the visa itself.
| Cost | Approx amount | Who you pay | |---|---|---| | Singapore government visa fee | SGD 30 (≈ INR 1,900) per applicant | ICA / Singapore mission | | Authorised agent / VFS handling | INR 500 – 1,500 | Visa agent / VFS | | Photographs (Singapore spec) | INR 300 – 600 | Local studio | | Lifeset Overseas service fee | from ₹5,999 all-in | Us — 18% GST included; embassy/VFS fees separate, at cost |
Our from ₹5,999 all-in fee (18% GST included) covers the full preparation and lodging of your visitor-visa application. Government and VFS/agent fees are passed through at cost — we do not mark them up.
Singapore visa processing times
| Route | Typical processing | Note | |---|---|---| | Tourist / social visit e-Visa | About 3 – 5 working days | Can be longer in peak season or if documents need clarification | | Business visit e-Visa | About 3 – 5 working days | Supported by an invitation/letter from the Singapore host |
Apply at least two to three weeks before travel. Singapore is generally efficient, but last-minute applications leave no margin if a document needs to be re-done.
Where Indian travellers go in Singapore
Most first trips centre on Marina Bay (Gardens by the Bay, the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark, Merlion Park), Sentosa Island (Universal Studios Singapore, S.E.A. Aquarium, beaches), Orchard Road for shopping, Little India and Chinatown for food and culture, and the Singapore Zoo / Night Safari. The city is compact and the MRT metro makes it easy to get around without a car.
English is an official language and is widely spoken, which makes Singapore an especially comfortable first overseas trip for Indian families.
The Indian connection
Singapore has a large, long-established Indian community and is one of the most India-friendly cities in Asia — Little India, widely available Indian food (including plentiful vegetarian and Jain options), Hindu and Sikh places of worship, and direct flights from most major Indian metros. The climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent short tropical showers; pack light, breathable clothing and an umbrella.

Singapore visa FAQs
Do Indians need a visa for Singapore? Yes. Indian passport holders need an entry visa for Singapore. It is issued as an e-Visa and must be lodged through an authorised agent or a Singapore mission — there is no visa-on-arrival and no walk-in tourist visa for Indians.
How long can I stay in Singapore on a tourist visa? The visa controls entry; the stay is decided by the ICA officer on arrival. Most tourists receive a social visit pass of up to 30 days, which may be shorter than the visa's overall validity.
How much is the Singapore visa fee? The Singapore government visa fee is about SGD 30 (≈ ₹1,900) per applicant, plus a small agent/VFS handling charge. Our preparation service is from ₹5,999 all-in (18% GST included), with these third-party fees passed through at cost.
How long does the Singapore visa take? Usually about 3 – 5 working days. Apply two to three weeks before travel to leave a buffer.
Is the Singapore Arrival Card the same as the visa? No. The Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC) is a free online immigration declaration submitted within three days before arrival. It is separate from — and additional to — your visa, and must be done before you fly.
Can I get a multiple-entry Singapore visa? Singapore can issue multiple-entry visas with validity of up to about two years on appropriate profiles, often for applicants with good travel history. The 30-day-per-visit stay limit still applies on each entry.
Can I work in Singapore on a visitor visa? No. The visitor / social visit visa is for tourism, family visits and short business meetings only — not employment. Working in Singapore requires a separate work pass, which is not a service we provide.
My visa was refused — what now? Identify the exact reason, strengthen the file (usually funds, ties or itinerary consistency), and reapply with an honest, complete application.
