🇪🇺 Schengen · Refusal recovery · Visa Code Article 32

Schengen visa refused? Here’s how we get it approved.

A Schengen refusal arrives as a standard form listing the grounds under Article 32 of the Visa Code — purpose not clear, insufficient means, doubts about your intention to leave. The ticked boxes ARE the reasons. You can appeal (remonstrance) within the member state’s deadline, or submit a corrected fresh application. We decode the boxes and rebuild against each one.

First, understand it

What a Schengen refusal actually means.

The Schengen refusal is a one-page standard form with numbered boxes. Each ticked box maps to a precise Article 32 ground — for example "the purpose and conditions of the intended stay were not justified", "the information submitted regarding justification … is not reliable", "insufficient means of subsistence", or "intention to leave … could not be ascertained". There are no hidden notes: the ticked boxes tell you exactly what the consulate relied on. Read the boxes, not your fears.

Why Schengen Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa applications get refused.

  • Purpose & conditions not justified

A weak or inconsistent itinerary, unconfirmed bookings, or an invitation that does not hold together.

  • Insufficient means of subsistence

Funds below the destination country’s daily requirement for your trip length, or balances that look arranged rather than genuine.

  • Unreliable supporting documents

Documents the consulate doubts — employment letters, bank statements or sponsorship that do not stand up.

  • Intention to leave not established

Ties to India not strong enough to satisfy the consulate you will return before the visa expires.

  • Insurance / history issues

Missing or insufficient travel medical insurance (€30,000 cover), or a previous overstay or Schengen refusal.

What to do right now.

  1. 01

Note exactly which numbered boxes are ticked on the standard refusal form — each maps to a precise ground.

  2. 02

Check the appeal deadline for the country that refused you (it varies by member state).

  3. 03

Decide: appeal (remonstrance) in time, or reapply with a corrected file.

  4. 04

Fix the ticked grounds — funds, itinerary, insurance, ties.

  5. 05

Apply to the correct country (main destination) next time.

The ticked boxes are the reasons

There are no separate officer notes — the Schengen refusal form itself lists the exact Article 32 grounds the consulate relied on. We decode the ticked boxes precisely and rebuild against each one.

Appeal within the deadline, or reapply

Most Schengen states allow a written appeal/remonstrance within a set deadline (often 15–30 days). If an appeal is unlikely to succeed quickly, a corrected fresh application is faster. We advise which fits your case and timeline.

How we turn a refused Schengen case into an approval.

We are visitor-visa and refusal specialists, licensed in Patiala. We do not simply re-send the file that was already refused — we rebuild it from the real reason. And if your case is not ready, we tell you honestly, rather than take it just to bill you.

  1. 01

    Honest diagnosis

We find the real reason — your GCMS notes for Canada, or the written refusal grounds for everyone else — instead of guessing. If the case is not recoverable, we tell you that, not a story.

  2. 02

    Fix the actual gap

Funds, ties, purpose or consistency — we correct the specific weakness the officer found, with evidence presented the way that office expects to see it.

  3. 03

    Rebuild the whole file

A clean, coherent application (or a focused appeal) that answers the refusal head-on, with every document reconciled so nothing contradicts.

  4. 04

    File, track & prepare you

We lodge it, monitor the case, and prepare you for any interview or further documents — one licensed consultant with you from refusal to decision.

What we see every week

The refusals we regularly turn around.

Most refused applicants were never weak — their file simply did not show the officer what they needed to see. These are the patterns we rebuild into approvals.

  • Real funds, badly presented

The money was genuine but looked arranged or undocumented. We evidence the source and seasoning so the officer can see it is truly yours.

  • Strong ties, invisible on paper

A solid job, property or family in India that the file never actually showed. We make the ties impossible for the officer to miss.

  • A weak or copy-paste purpose

A vague reason for the trip. We build a specific, believable purpose with the documents that back it up.

  • Inconsistencies the officer caught

Dates, jobs or amounts that did not line up across forms. We reconcile the entire file so nothing contradicts.

  • Refused more than once

Every repeat refusal makes the next harder. We get the real reason and break the cycle instead of resubmitting and hoping.

Schengen refusal FAQs

Is one Schengen visa valid for all Schengen countries?
Yes — a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa lets you travel across the whole Schengen area. You must apply through the country that is your main destination (or first point of entry), and that consulate decides your case.
Why was my Schengen visa refused?
The standard refusal form ticks the exact grounds — most often purpose/conditions not justified, insufficient funds, unreliable documents, or doubts you will leave before the visa expires. Missing travel insurance is another common one.
Can I appeal a Schengen visa refusal?
Yes. Each Schengen country allows a written appeal (remonstrance) within a deadline stated on the refusal. Alternatively you can submit a corrected fresh application. We help you choose the faster, stronger route.
Can I apply through a different Schengen country after a refusal?
You must still apply through your genuine main destination — "consulate shopping" is visible across the shared system and harms credibility. The fix is a corrected application to the correct country, not a different one.
Do I need new bookings and insurance to reapply?
Yes — a fresh application needs current, confirmed travel medical insurance (€30,000 cover) and a coherent, up-to-date itinerary and bookings. Stale or mismatched documents are a common reason a reapplication fails again, so we refresh the whole bundle.
