Where our NRI clients live

Three countries, three sets of rules.

What works for a sponsor in Brampton does not work for one in Melbourne. Pick yours — each panel names the routes we actually file and the one thing people get wrong on each.

Canada

Brampton · Surrey · Calgary · Toronto

Most Canadian NRIs come to us for the same thing: getting parents over for longer than a normal visitor visa allows, and getting a spouse through without the file falling apart over relationship proof.

The Super Visa is not a longer visitor visa

It is its own stream with its own conditions: your income in Canada, a signed invitation from you, and private medical insurance that meets the published coverage minimum. Miss any one of the three and it is refused on a technicality rather than on merit.

Your income is the evidence

IRCC looks at the sponsoring child’s or grandchild’s income against a published minimum that is revised every year. Because it moves, we do not print it here — our Super Visa income calculator carries the current table and is re-verified annually.

A refusal is readable

Canada is one of the countries where you can order the officer’s own notes on the file. When a parent’s visitor visa is refused, those notes usually name the exact concern — and that turns a guess into a fix.

Australia

Melbourne · Sydney · Perth · Brisbane

Australia separates “come and visit” from “come and stay” more sharply than most countries, and picking the wrong door is the mistake we most often have to undo for Australian NRIs.

Sponsored parent routes are their own world

Australia has temporary sponsored parent visas and contributory permanent ones, and they differ enormously in cost, waiting time and what they let your parents do. We will walk you through which door fits your family before anything is lodged.

De-facto counts, if it is documented

Australia recognises de-facto partners, but the burden of proof is real: shared finances, a shared address, and people who will state on paper that they know you as a couple. Told properly this is a strength; told loosely it is a refusal.

Genuine Student, not GTE

Since 23 March 2024 the student route is assessed against the Genuine Student requirement. It asks a different question from the old GTE test, and a statement written to the old framing will not answer it.

United States

New Jersey · Bay Area · Texas · Chicago

The US is the one country where the interview, not the paperwork, decides it. Your parents will stand at a window in Delhi or Mumbai and answer questions for a couple of minutes — and that is the whole assessment.

The interview is the application

Two or three minutes, in English or Hindi, standing at a window. We rehearse it with your parents — the actual questions, in the order they come — so the first time they hear them is not at the consulate.

Your status abroad is not their case

A common and costly misreading: sponsors assume that being a citizen or green-card holder makes a parent’s visitor visa easier. It can cut the other way, because the officer now has a reason to wonder whether the visit ends.

214(b) is not a ban

Most visitor refusals are under section 214(b) — the officer was not satisfied about return intent. It carries no fixed waiting period. What it does mean is that reapplying without changing anything will land the same way.

How it works across time zones

You send the papers.Your parents never touch a portal.

The hardest part of an NRI file is not the visa rules — it is that the money, the documents and the applicant are in different countries. This is how we split it.

  1. You message us — from wherever you are

WhatsApp works across every time zone we deal with. Tell us who the applicant is, which country, and roughly when. Nothing to fill in yet.

  2. We tell you honestly whether it is worth filing

One consultant reads the case and gives you a straight answer: file it now, fix this first, or do not. You hear this before you pay us anything beyond the ₹499 report.

  3. You send papers. Your parents send nothing.

Income proof, sponsorship letters and invitations come from you, directly to your officer. Your family in India is asked only for what genuinely has to come from them.

  4. We handle the India end in person

Biometrics, the VFS appointment, the document walk-through in Punjabi or Hindi — done from our Patiala office, so nobody elderly is left working out a portal alone.

  5. You get the updates, at your hour

Every change on the file comes to you on WhatsApp. You never have to ring at 6am India time to find out where things stand.

What NRIs ask us

12 straight answers, drawn rather than written — no jargon, and nothing we cannot back up.

I live abroad and my parents are in Patiala. Who has to do what?

You do the paperwork; they do the appointment. Income proof, invitation letters and sponsorship documents come from you, over WhatsApp, at whatever hour suits your time zone. Your parents are asked only for the things that must physically come from them — passport, photographs, biometrics — and we walk them through it in person at our Patiala office, in Punjabi or Hindi.

Do my parents have to travel to a big city for this?

For the biometrics appointment, yes — that is at a VFS or embassy centre and nobody can do it for them. Everything before it is handled from our office. We book the slot, prepare them for what happens on the day, and make sure they arrive with the right file rather than a bag of loose papers.

Whose money is assessed — mine abroad, or my parents’ in India?

It depends on the route, and getting this backwards is the single most common mistake. On a sponsored route such as the Canadian Super Visa it is your income abroad that is tested against a published minimum. On an ordinary visitor visa the officer looks at your parents’ own situation as well, and a sponsorship from you has to be documented properly rather than assumed. We will tell you which applies before you gather anything.

What makes an invitation letter actually work?

Specificity. Who is inviting, your status in that country, exactly who is coming and for how long, precisely which costs you are covering, and where they will stay. A warm letter that says “they will stay with me and I will look after everything” tells the officer nothing they can verify. We draft it and send it to you to sign.

My parents were refused a visitor visa. Can it be fixed?

Usually, once you know the real ground. In countries that release the officer’s notes — Canada being the clearest — we order them and read the actual reason instead of guessing. Then we rebuild the file around that specific gap and refile. Applying again with the same documents and a new date is the mistake that turns one refusal into three.

Why do refusals keep coming back to “will they return”?

Because for a visitor visa that is the whole question. The officer is not judging your family, they are judging whether the visit ends. Ties to India — a pension, a house, land, a business, other children living here — are what answer it, and they answer it on paper. A sentence promising a return date is not evidence; a property record and a pension order are.

Can you get my brother a work visa where I live?

No. Work routes need a separate MEA Recruiting Agent licence under the Emigration Act, and we do not hold one — our licence covers visa consultancy and travel services. We file visitor, study, permanent-residency and family applications. Anyone offering your family a guaranteed job abroad without that licence is exactly who this warning is about.

How do I pay from abroad, and what does the price include?

International cards work; the fee is fixed and published before you commit. Our fee already has the 18% GST inside the number quoted — no larger bill arrives later. Embassy and VFS charges are separate, set by the government, and passed to you at cost with nothing added.

Is my parents’ passport or my documents safe with you?

We hold original passports only for as long as a submission actually requires, with a receipt. Financial documents are handled by your named officer, not circulated around an office, and we do not post anyone’s papers into a group chat. If your file needs sponsor documents that you would rather not have sitting on a phone, tell us and we will handle them separately.

I am eight hours behind. When can I actually reach you?

Message any time — the reply comes during our working hours, and you will have it when you wake up. Where a call is genuinely needed we book it for your evening rather than ours. In practice most NRI files run entirely over WhatsApp and never need a call at all.

Will one person handle it, or will I keep re-explaining?

One named officer owns the file end to end — the document list, the letters, the forms, the appointment, the tracking. You are not passed around a queue, and you never start the story again from the beginning with someone new.

How do I know you are licensed, from the other side of the world?

Consultancy Licence No. 849/DC/PTA/PLA/LC-3/2024, issued by the Office of the District Magistrate, Patiala. The company is Pro Lifeset Overseas Private Limited, CIN U52291PB2024PTC060508 — checkable on the MCA portal from anywhere. Ask us for the licence PDF and we will send it before you pay a rupee.
