Required forms or documents are missing or the application is incomplete
The personalized document checklist is not fully satisfied, forms are incomplete, key supporting evidence requested for the applicant’s situation is absent, or a later IRCC request for additional information is not answered adequately or on time.
Why it matters
IRCC instructs applicants to provide all documents on the personalized checklist and to respond to additional document requests used to establish admissibility. Incomplete applications or missed evidence requests can prevent the officer from being satisfied that the requirements are met.
What the officer may compare
Checklist, form validation, signatures, required uploads, local visa-office requirements, any later IRCC request letter, the response deadline and proof of submission.
How to strengthen a reapplication
Use a submission checklist and confirm every upload opens correctly. If IRCC later asks for more evidence, answer each item and keep proof of submission. If a document cannot be obtained, provide a truthful explanation and alternative evidence where appropriate rather than silently omitting it.
Common mistakes
Blank required fields; wrong file uploaded; unsigned form where signature is required; assuming a cover letter replaces mandatory evidence; missing or only partly answering an IRCC request.
