Azerbaijan e-Visa — overview
The Azerbaijan e-Visa is the simplest route for Indian travellers — a fully online single-entry visa issued through the official ASAN Visa portal (evisa.gov.az). It allows a stay of up to 30 days and there is no embassy visit or in-person appointment.
You complete the online form, upload your passport and photo, pay the fee, and the e-Visa is sent to you by email — usually within about three working days, with an urgent option that is much faster. The e-Visa is then valid for entry within 90 days of issue.

Azerbaijan e-visa for Indian tourists
Indian passport holders visiting Azerbaijan for tourism obtain an electronic visa before travel. The Azerbaijan overview held in our Knowledge Base describes the process for the VFS Global e-visa channel: register on the portal, provide the requested details, upload the documents and pay the fee online; the e-visa is issued electronically and printed for travel. It notes that "the E-Visa application has no connection with Azerbaijani Embassies or Consulates".
The rules that invalidate an e-visa
- "The passport that you use for the application must be the same as that you will use while travelling to Azerbaijan. If different, then your E-Visa will be invalid."
- "Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival in Azerbaijan" and "should have at least 1 blank page" for the border officer's stamp.
- "Each traveller, including infants and children, must obtain an individual E-Visa."
- The information provided must "match exactly with the information on your passport", and "once the E-Visa is processed, the information provided cannot be changed".
- Dual nationals must apply under the passport they will travel on.
What to prepare
Passport scan, a photograph, the return ticket and hotel booking, and payment by card. Fees and validity are set by the State Migration Service through the ASAN Visa system; check the official portal at the time of application, since the figures are not held in our sources.
