Is there a Lifeset office in Cheeka?

No — our only office is in Patiala, at Shop No. 2 near the PRTC Workshop on Nabha Road, roughly 30–35 km from Cheeka, about a 45-minute drive across the state line. There is no branch or franchise in Cheeka or anywhere in Kaithal district, and you should be cautious of anyone locally claiming to represent us. I live in Haryana — can a Punjab-licensed consultancy handle my Schengen file?

Yes. Our licence (No. 849/DC/PTA/PLA/LC-3/2024) is issued by the District Magistrate, Patiala, and it regulates our consultancy at its Patiala office — it does not restrict where clients come from. Your application goes to the consulate in your own name, with your own Kaithal-district address, exactly as it should. The wedding is in Italy but we also want to see Paris — which country do we apply to?

You apply through your main destination — the country where you will spend the most nights. A ten-day trip with seven nights in Italy for the wedding and three in Paris is an Italy application, lodged at Italy's VFS centre. If your nights are split equally between countries, you apply through the one you enter first. We map this out before anything is booked, because filing to the wrong consulate is a common and completely avoidable refusal.

Where do I give biometrics — will I have to go to Delhi?

Usually not. Most Schengen countries — including Italy, Germany, France and the Netherlands — take applications at the VFS Global centre in Chandigarh, which serves Haryana as well as Punjab, so from Cheeka it is a manageable day trip. First-time applicants give fingerprints and a photo, which stay reusable for up to 59 months.

How much bank balance do we need to show?

There is no single magic figure — each Schengen country publishes its own per-day reference amount, and the consulate reads your whole picture: trip length, who is hosting you, and whether your income explains your balance. A sudden large deposit just before applying hurts more than a modest, steady balance helps. You can apply up to 6 months before travel and no later than 15 days before — we recommend starting 6 to 8 weeks ahead, and our own service charge is told to you upfront.
