Canada Super Visa help for parents and grandparents from Nabha, run from Patiala
The Super Visa is not the two-week visitor visa most families first ask for. It lets a parent or grandparent stay in Canada for years at a stretch, on a visa good for up to ten. But it turns on two things a normal tourist file never touches: your child or grandchild in Canada must clear a minimum-income test for the whole household, and you must actually buy a year of medical insurance before you apply. We build both sides of that file for Nabha families, from our licensed office about 27 km up the Nabha Road in Patiala.
Up to 5 years
Length of a single Super Visa stay, allowed since 2022 (raised from 2) — on a visa valid up to 10 years, multiple entry
CAD 100,000
Minimum medical insurance the applicant must buy — at least one year, covering health care, hospitalisation and repatriation. IRCC will not accept a quote
~27 km
By road from Nabha, up the Nabha Road, to our only licensed office in Patiala — there is no Lifeset branch in Nabha
For applicants in Nabha & nearby
Nabha has always looked outward. It ran its own princely state, minted its own coinage and had one of the region's early railway links back when much of the district was still walking to market — a town long practised at sending its people away and keeping the ties alive across the distance. Today that distance is usually to Canada, and the people who walk into a consultancy about it are often not the students but their parents and grandparents: a son in Brampton, a daughter in Surrey, a first grandchild the elders have only seen on a video call. The Super Visa is what brings them over for years rather than a fortnight, and it is a genuinely different animal from a normal visitor visa — longer stay, a mandatory year of medical insurance you have to purchase up front, and an income test that falls on the child in Canada, not on the visiting parent. Lifeset Overseas is a Government of Punjab licensed consultancy (Licence No. 849/DC/PTA/PLA/LC-3/2024, valid to 2029) whose walk-in office sits, fittingly, right on the Nabha Road in Patiala, near the PRTC Workshop — about 27 km up the very road that runs to your town. There is no Lifeset branch in Nabha, and we won't pretend there is; the file is built from that Patiala office, and we work with you in Punjabi, Hindi or English.
What we do for you
Handled end to end, by one consultant.
Check the host in Canada actually qualifies first
The income test is the make-or-break step, and it sits on your child or grandchild in Canada — not on you. They must show a minimum income (the Low Income Cut-Off, LICO) for their family size, and crucially, that count includes the parents and grandparents coming to visit. The exact figure moves with family size and updates year to year, so we don't quote a number blind — we confirm the current one and walk you through the Super Visa income calculator before anyone spends on the application.
The invitation letter and the host's supporting file
Your host in Canada writes a formal invitation letter promising to support you for the length of your stay and stating who is in the household. We help draft it properly and assemble what has to sit behind it — their proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residence, and income evidence (notice of assessment, employment letter, pay records) that stands up against the LICO figure for the year you apply.
Getting the mandatory medical insurance right
This is where self-filed Super Visa applications most often fall over. You must buy — not merely price — private medical insurance of at least CAD 100,000, valid for at least one year from your date of entry, covering health care, hospitalisation and repatriation. IRCC rejects a quote; the policy has to be genuinely purchased and paid. It can now come from a Canadian insurer or an approved insurer outside Canada, and we make sure the coverage, term and wording match exactly what the visa officer checks for.
The immigration medical exam and the applicant's own documents
A Super Visa applicant must complete an immigration medical exam with an IRCC-approved panel physician, and we tell you where and when to do it so it is valid at filing. Alongside it we prepare your side of the file — passport, relationship proof to your host, and evidence of your ties to Nabha, because even on a Super Visa the officer wants to see a genuine visit with a life to come home to.
Filing on the IRCC portal and biometrics at Chandigarh
We assemble and submit the application online, then book your biometrics at the VFS Global centre in Chandigarh, the nearest one to the Nabha–Patiala area. For elderly applicants we plan that single trip carefully — what to carry, what to expect — and track the file through to the officer's decision.
Why Nabha applicants choose us
We treat it as a Super Visa, not a tourist visa
The two look similar and are filed differently. A visitor-visa mindset skips the LICO income test and the year of purchased insurance — the exact things that sink Super Visa files. We build to the Super Visa rules specifically, so the host income, the invitation and the insurance all line up the way an officer reads them.
Licensed, walk-in, and literally on the Nabha Road
Pro Lifeset Overseas Pvt Ltd holds Government of Punjab licence No. 849/DC/PTA/PLA/LC-3/2024 (valid to 2029). Our ground-floor office is on the Nabha Road in Patiala, near the PRTC Workshop — about 27 km up the road from Nabha, open for walk-ins Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 6 PM. A registered firm at a fixed address, not an anonymous number, and not a shopfront we pretend to keep in your town.
Built for elderly applicants and a host abroad
Most of a Super Visa file runs across two places — you in Nabha and your child in Canada — so we coordinate the pieces over WhatsApp and email in your own language, and keep the in-person visits to what genuinely needs them. Where a parent's mobility is limited, we plan the one Chandigarh biometrics trip around it.
Honest about what we don't do
We are a licensed visa and travel consultancy. We do not process work permits (that needs a separate MEA Recruiting Agent licence we don't hold) and we don't run IELTS or PTE coaching. And we never guarantee a Super Visa — the decision is the IRCC officer's alone. If your host's income falls short of the LICO for the year, we tell you plainly and help you plan, rather than file a case set up to fail.
What a Nabha Super Visa file needs before we submit
- An invitation letter from your child or grandchild in Canada, promising support for the length of your stay and listing everyone in the household
- Proof your host is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident (citizenship certificate, PR card or passport)
- The host's income evidence — latest notice of assessment, employer letter and pay records — meeting the current LICO for their family size, counting you in it
- Purchased medical insurance of at least CAD 100,000, valid at least one year from entry, covering health care, hospitalisation and repatriation — the actual policy, not a quote
- Your immigration medical exam, completed with an IRCC-approved panel physician
- Your passport, valid comfortably beyond the intended visit
- Proof of your relationship to the host in Canada (birth records, family documents)
- Evidence of your ties to Nabha — property, pension, family here — showing a genuine visit, not a one-way move
We send you a tailored checklist for your exact case when you get in touch.
FAQs
- Is there a Lifeset Overseas office in Nabha?
- No. Our only licensed office is in Patiala — Shop No. 2, Nabha Road, near the PRTC Workshop — about 27 km up the Nabha Road from your town, roughly a 40-minute drive. There is no Lifeset branch in Nabha and we won't imply one. Much of a Super Visa file is coordinated over WhatsApp and email because your host is in Canada anyway; you come to Patiala when a document review or a sit-down genuinely helps.
- How is the Super Visa different from a normal Canada visitor visa?
- Three things. It is only for parents and grandparents of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. It allows a much longer stay — up to five years per visit since 2022, on a visa valid up to ten years — where a regular visitor visa caps each stay at six months. And it adds two hard requirements a tourist visa never has: your host in Canada must clear a minimum-income test, and you must buy a year of medical insurance before you apply. It is a better fit when the plan is years with the family, not a short trip.
- How much income does my son or daughter in Canada need to show?
- They must meet the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) for their family size — and that count includes you, the visiting parents or grandparents. There is no single figure to quote, because it changes with the household size and IRCC updates it, so a stale number is worse than none. We confirm the current LICO for the year you apply and walk you through the Super Visa income calculator, so you know before filing whether your host qualifies.
- Do we really have to buy the insurance, or is a quote enough?
- You have to actually buy it. IRCC requires proof of purchased private medical insurance of at least CAD 100,000, valid for at least one year from your entry date, covering health care, hospitalisation and repatriation. An estimate or a quotation is not accepted — the policy must be paid for. The one bit of flexibility added recently is that it can come from a Canadian insurer or an approved insurer outside Canada. We make sure the coverage amount, term and wording are exactly what the officer looks for.
- My parents are elderly — how much travel does the process involve?
- Very little until the end. The invitation letter and income proof come from your host in Canada, and your documents, the insurance and the medical exam are arranged around Nabha and Patiala. The one unavoidable trip is biometrics at the VFS Global centre in Chandigarh, given once after the application is submitted. For an elderly applicant we plan that single visit carefully — timing, what to carry, what happens on the day — so it is as easy as possible.
- Can you guarantee the Super Visa will be approved?
- No, and be wary of anyone in Nabha or anywhere else who says they can. The decision belongs entirely to the IRCC visa officer. What we control is the strength of the file — a host who genuinely clears the LICO, a correctly purchased year of insurance, a proper invitation and clean relationship and tie proof. We build that as well as it can honestly be built; the officer decides on it.
