Poland offers the cheapest legitimate English-taught degrees in the EU: low four-figure tuition at public universities, living costs that undercut Germany, and October/February intakes that fit Indian academic calendars. That combination built a boom — and the boom built a recruiter industry, some of it rotten. Understanding which half of the market you are standing in is the Poland strategy.

The accreditation question that decides everything

Poland's public universities are solid and internationally recognised. Its private sector ranges from excellent to institutions that exist mainly to sell admission letters. Before any money moves, we verify the institution's accreditation and the programme's standing directly — not through the recruiter who profits from the answer. If a college's main marketing argument is how easy the visa is, that is the answer.

What the consulate now checks hardest

Three things sink Polish files today: funds without history (a balance that appeared last week), a story that doesn't hold (an applicant who cannot say why this course follows from their education), and formality gaps (missing apostilles, uncertified translations — Polish posts are strict about paper). All three are preventable, which is why refusal-proofing a Polish file is mostly done before it is written.

Visa first, residence card second

The consulate issues a national type D visa — that is what gets you to Poland. The document that carries you through the degree is the karta pobytu, the residence card you apply for in Poland. Plan both from day one: the karta process needs its own documents, and students who arrive thinking the visa was the whole job discover the second half at the worst time.

The budget that actually works

Tuition low, living lower — outside the big two cities. Warsaw and Kraków run notably pricier; Łódź, Lublin, Wrocław and Poznań stretch a rupee much further with universities that match.
