The UK Medical Visitor route is the Standard Visitor visa used for medical reasons — to receive private medical treatment at a UK hospital or clinic. A standard visit allows up to 6 months; where treatment needs longer, a medical visitor can apply for an 11-month medical visit visa or extend their stay.

The application must clearly establish the treatment: a letter from the UK doctor or hospital setting out the condition, the treatment plan and its likely cost and duration, and proof that you can pay for the treatment and support yourself throughout. The application is made online on GOV.UK with biometrics in India.
