Visa applications from Bathinda and the Malwa belt
In Bathinda the wealth is in the land. A family may own twenty acres of cotton and wheat, a tractor, a tube well and a house in the village, and still have a bank account that shows very little. The money comes twice a year when the crop is sold at the mandi, and much of it is spent in cash. That is normal here. But a visa officer wants to see money in a bank, and that gap is why many honest Bathinda families get refused.

Turning land into proof of funds
"Proof of funds" is the officer's phrase for showing you can pay for the trip or the course. For a farming family we build it from the papers you already have:
- Jamabandi (land record) showing the acres in the family's name
- J-form or mandi receipts showing the crop sales
- A valuation of the land from a registered valuer
- Bank statements, with the crop payments marked and explained
- Income tax return if one is filed, or a CA certificate of agricultural income
For trading families — a commission agent at the grain market, a fertiliser dealer, a cloth shop — we use the shop licence, GST returns and purchase invoices in the same way. Put together properly, this tells the officer that the money is real, even if it does not sit in one account all year.
Biometrics and the one thing we must say plainly
Bathinda has no visa centre. The nearest are in Chandigarh, which covers many countries, and Jalandhar, which handles Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand and France. Biometrics is the fingerprint-and-photo step, done once per application. We book the slot at whichever centre is easier for you. You travel once for that.
We also do not have an office in Bathinda. Anyone claiming to be our local branch is not connected to us. Our only office is on Nabha Road in Patiala.
What families here ask us for
Almost every Bathinda file starts with a child. Either a child wants to go abroad to study, or a child is already abroad and wants the parents to visit.
For the first, a study visa needs an admission letter, proof of funds built the way described above, and a clear reason for the course. We are honest about which countries and courses make sense for a student's marks and budget.
For the second, a visitor visa gets parents to a wedding or a new grandchild. Parents of children in Canada should ask about the Super Visa, which allows a much longer stay. The child's income in Canada must meet a set line, and we check that first.
Spouses joining a partner abroad apply under a dependent visa. Those files are about proving the marriage is real, so the wedding album matters as much as the bank book.
After a refusal
If a file from Bathinda is refused, the reason is very often "insufficient funds" or "not satisfied you will return".
