Dependent & Spouse Visa Consultant in Patiala

Joining a husband, wife or parent who already lives abroad is a family-reunion route, not a work route — and it stands or falls on how well you prove the relationship is genuine. From our licensed office on Nabha Road, we help Patiala families assemble marriage evidence, financial documents and a clean application for Canada, UK and Australia family visas.

For applicants in Patiala & nearby

Our only office is here in Patiala — Shop No. 2, Nabha Road, near the PRTC Workshop, open Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 6 PM, with walk-ins welcome. Family reunification is one of the most common reasons Patiala households come to us: a son settled in Brampton wanting to bring his wife, a daughter in London sponsoring her parents, a newly-married couple where one partner already holds PR. Because so many Punjab marriages are Anand Karaj ceremonies that may not have been registered promptly, marriage documentation is the piece people most often get wrong — and it is exactly the piece we handle every week. We are a licensed Punjab consultancy (Form-II licence No. 849/DC/PTA/PLA/LC-3/2024), we speak Punjabi, Hindi and English, and we will tell you honestly whether a spouse or dependent route fits your situation before you spend a rupee on fees.

What we do for you

Handled end to end, by one consultant.

Genuine-relationship evidence pack

The single reason family visas get refused is a weak relationship file. We map out what a visa officer expects — a consistent timeline, communication history, financial ties and evidence you and your sponsor actually share a life — and help you gather it rather than hand over a thin bundle of photos.

Punjab marriage documentation

Anand Karaj record, registration under the Anand Marriage Act or Hindu Marriage Act, the joint invitation card, photographs across the wedding events, and name-change affidavits or gazette entries where your maiden and married names differ. This is the paperwork most Patiala applicants under-prepare, and we get it right.

Sponsor eligibility & the financial requirement

Most family routes test the sponsor's means to support you — the UK's £29,000 minimum for partners, Canada's undertaking to support, Australia's sponsorship undertaking. We check your sponsor abroad actually qualifies and help present payslips, tax records and bank statements the way the checking officer reads them.

Choosing the right family route

Spouse or partner, dependent child, or parents and grandparents on a route like Canada's Super Visa — each has different rules and timelines. We help you pick the one that fits, and we are clear that a dependent visa lets you join family, not take a job — a work permit is an entirely different, separately-licensed process we do not handle.

Forms, submission & Chandigarh biometrics

We complete the application forms with you, sequence the uploads correctly, and prepare you for the biometrics appointment at VFS Chandigarh — roughly 65 km up the road — so nothing gets bounced on a technicality.

Why Patiala applicants choose us

Licensed in Punjab for this exact work

We hold a Government of Punjab consultancy licence (Form-II No. 849/DC/PTA/PLA/LC-3/2024, valid to 2029) under the Punjab travel-professional rules — so you are dealing with a regulated firm, not an unlicensed agent operating out of a phone.

A real walk-in office, not a call centre

You can sit across a desk from us on Nabha Road, spread your marriage and financial papers on the table, and get straight answers. That matters when documents are sensitive and every page counts.

We know Punjab marriage paperwork

Late-registered Anand Karaj marriages, name mismatches after marriage, joint families, remittance histories — these come up constantly in Patiala files, and we prepare them for foreign visa officers who do not know the local context.

Honest about scope and outcomes

We do not process work permits, we do not run IELTS coaching, and we never promise an approval — the visa officer alone decides. We tell you the realistic strength of your case before you commit.

What to bring to your Patiala consultation

  • Both passports (bio-data pages), plus any old or expired passports that show earlier travel
  • Your marriage certificate — registered under the Anand Marriage Act or Hindu Marriage Act — with the Anand Karaj or wedding record
  • Wedding photographs across the events, the joint invitation card, and a rough guest list
  • Ongoing-relationship proof: call and chat history, money transfers, joint bookings, and passport stamps from any visits
  • The sponsor's proof of status abroad — PR card, citizenship, or a valid visa — and their overseas address
  • The sponsor's income and financial documents: payslips, tax records and recent bank statements
  • Birth certificates for any dependent children you want to include on the application
  • A name-change affidavit or gazette notification if your name differs across documents (common after marriage)

We send you a tailored checklist for your exact case when you get in touch.

FAQs

What is the difference between a dependent/spouse visa and a work visa — and can you get me one to work abroad?
A dependent or spouse visa lets you join a family member who already lives abroad; depending on the country and route it may or may not carry work rights, but its purpose is family reunion, not employment. A work permit is a separate category that requires a job offer and a different licence to process. Lifeset Overseas is licensed for visa consultancy only and does not handle work permits — we hold no MEA Recruiting Agent licence — so if your goal is a job abroad, a dependent visa is not the vehicle, and we will tell you so plainly.
My Anand Karaj marriage was never registered, or was registered years later. Is that a problem?
It is common in Punjab and it is usually fixable, but it needs handling correctly. Visa officers want a legally recognised marriage, so an unregistered or late-registered Anand Karaj should be supported with registration under the Anand Marriage Act or Hindu Marriage Act plus strong secondary evidence — invitation card, photographs, witnesses and communication history — to close any gap between the ceremony date and the paperwork. Bring whatever you have to our Patiala office and we will map the cleanest path.
What kind of genuine-relationship proof do visa officers actually look for?
They look for a believable, consistent story rather than a single document: how you met, a marriage that is properly recorded, continuous communication, evidence of visits, money sent or shared, and ideally some joint financial or household ties. A thin file of only wedding photos is a frequent cause of refusal. We help you build the timeline and gather the range of proof officers expect.
Can I sponsor my parents to join me abroad, not just my spouse?
Often yes, through a parent or grandparent route rather than a spouse route. Canada's Super Visa, for example, lets eligible parents and grandparents stay up to 5 years per entry and is usually issued as a multiple-entry visa valid for up to 10 years, subject to income and medical-insurance conditions on the sponsor. Rules differ sharply by country, so we assess your sponsor's eligibility first and recommend the route that genuinely fits.
Do I have to travel to Chandigarh, or can most of this be done from your Patiala office?
Almost all of the work — document preparation, the relationship file, form completion and review — is done with us in Patiala. The one step that is centralised is biometrics (fingerprints and photo), given at VFS Chandigarh, roughly 65 km and about two hours away. We prepare you fully before that appointment so the trip is a formality, not a hurdle.
How much income does my sponsor abroad need to show?
It varies by country and route. The UK, for instance, has required sponsors to show a minimum income of £29,000 a year for a partner since 11 April 2024, while Canada uses a support undertaking and Australia relies on a sponsorship undertaking rather than a fixed income figure. We check the current threshold for your destination and help present your sponsor's payslips, tax records and bank statements the way the assessing officer reads them.
Can you guarantee my spouse or dependent visa will be approved?
No — and be cautious of anyone who does. The final decision rests entirely with the visa officer of the destination country. What we can do is make sure your relationship is documented honestly and thoroughly, the financial requirement is met, and nothing in the file invites avoidable doubt. A strong, truthful application is the best thing anyone can offer you.
